Drowned teen’s body found
He was crossing the river lagoon accompanied by others when he disappeared
THE body of a teenager, believed to be in his late teens, was recovered by community members on Tuesday morning, after he was reported to have drowned on Saturday.
The NSRI together with SAPS Search and Rescue were activated to Amatikulu River lagoon shortly after 1pm on Saturday afternoon.
Drive operations on Saturday and Sunday were made difficult by the wind conditions, as the various units hoped the body would rise to the surface.
It was reported that the teenager, a local male in his late teens, was crossing the river lagoon accompanied by others when he disappeared.
