EXCLUSIVE: Teen’s search for long lost mother
'I have travelled so far - I need to find my mother and meet my real family'
SIZWE Nkwanyana (17) is looking for his biological parents after he discovered that his birth mother had left him and his twin brother on a hostel doorstep in Gauteng hours after they were born.
‘I was raised by a woman whom I thought she was my biological mother, but earlier this year I discovered that she was not my mom,’he said.
Nkwanyana explained his ordeal started when he discovered that he had a doppelganger (double) living in Soweto near where he was raised.

‘My friends kept telling me about a boy who looked exactly like me, walked like me and even talked like me.
‘I became curious and started looking for the boy and found this to be true,’said Nkwanyana.
Shocked, he went straight to the woman who he had thought was his birth mother.
She was ill in hospital and he visited her bedside.
‘She was very sick. When I told her about what I had discovered, tears rolled down her face and she confessed that she had picked me up at the entrance leading to an Alexandra hostel.
