Police station for Dondotha

KZN MEC For Transport, Community Safety and Liaison, Mxolisi Kaunda, announced plans for the establishment of a police station to serve the Dondotha community, an area troubled by high levels of crime

THE KZN MEC For Transport, Community Safety and Liaison, Mxolisi Kaunda, announced plans for the establishment of a police station to serve the Dondotha community, an area troubled by high levels of crime.
He said this during an imbizo at Khenani Hall in Ward 7 of the uMfolozi Municipality. ‘Our aim as the department is to bring peace and stability to the community of this area and protect their property.’
Kaunda also visited the Khenani Crèche, where he handed over a donation of books and planted a tree, which children will use as a shelter in time to come.
Ward Councillor Thama Khumalo thanked the department for considering a police station, saying that even the learners were not safe at their schools. She also raised concerns about poor access roads and inconsistent bus service, saying the department should consider bringing in a new company.
Another issue was the old bridge at Cwaka, which the community regarded as unsafe.
