Tears of joy as gogo gets new house

A perfect gift for Women's Month

TEARS of joy rolled down the face of one of Gobandlovu Reserve’s oldest citizens, when gogo Saraphina Mngomezulu was handed a new house.

The 79-year -old Mngomezulu could not believe her eyes when a MPACT company representative delivered the keys of a newly built two-roomed house to her.

Her old house, which she shared with her four great grandchildren, was gutted by fire last August, leaving the family destitute.

‘I can’t find words to express my gratitude to all those people who made valuable contribution to the rebuilding of my house. I’m grateful to the Almighty and particularly to companies such as MPACT for coming to our rescue,’ said the pensioner.

Her granddaughter, Nonhlanhla Mzolo, said the family was relieved that all the tears and pains they had endured after the fire, have now been wiped away.

‘We have not fully recovered from that incident. Memories of that fire is still fresh in our minds. That fire destroyed all our possessions and documents.

‘We are thankful to the many people who came forward with their donations of food and clothes. This is a perfect gift for gogo during Women’s Month,’ Nonhlanhla said.

MPACT Human Resources Manager, Eric Dladla, who handed over the house keys, said they were touched by gogo Mngomezulu’s story.

‘We felt we needed to do something about her situation. We made a donation of about R50 000 to purchase building material. We also wish to commend the building contractor, Sambuluka Trade and Services, who were responsible for rebuilding the house. They did a great job.’
