AFTER months of training and promotions it came down to put up or shut up at 6am CAT when Floyd ‘Money’ Mayweather took on Conor ‘Notorious’ McGregor in what was dubbed the ‘Money Fight’ at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
Both fighters came out firing and landed a number of decent blows in the early rounds. But as expected Mayweather’s experience and class showed in the later rounds which resulted in a TKO victory in the 10th round.
It took just one minute and five seconds in round 10 for the fight to be called. Mayweather stated after the fight that his record of 50-0 does not matter and that he is officially stepping out of the boxing arena.
McGregor was not pleased with the referee’s decision blaming fatigue and saying that he was not knocked down onto the mat. But he did confirm that he will go back to EFC.
