IN two separate incidents near Mtubatuba on Wednesday, four people were arrested and more than 200g of dagga, a revolver and live ammunition seized.
As part of a crime clean-up operation, two people – one a schoolboy – were arrested on charges of possession of dagga.
When questioned about their supplier, the two directed police officers to their dealer’s home in Dukuduku.
A search revealed 222g of dagga, packaged in small parcels, each worth R15.
The suspected dealer was arrested on charges of dealing in dagga.
Mtubatuba SAPS Communications Officer Captain Justice Hlabisa urged adults to stop supplying children with drugs, also urging parents to ensure their children stay away from illegal substances.
In a separate incident, acting on a tip-off, Mtubatuba police arrested another man in Dukuduku on charges of illegal possession of a firearm and ammunition.
The man had in his possession a .38 revolver and four live rounds.
The four are in police custody and are expected to appear in Mtubatuba Magistrate’s Court tomorrow (Thursday).
