WATCH: Three men die in highway crash
They had been travelling towards Empangeni and the truck, coming from opposite direction on the highway, was turning right towards the port (Bayside)
Three occupants of a car died and one was hospitalised after they crashed into an articulated truck at the Alton intersection on the John Ross Parkway this morning.
They had been travelling towards Empangeni and the truck, coming from opposite direction on the highway, was turning right towards the port (Bayside).
Using the jaws of life, City Fire & Rescue personnel battled for more than an hour to extract the bodies of the victims.
The names of the deceased are being withheld.

‘This is so sad,’ said a police member, ‘it is Women’s Day and some mothers or partners are going to have to deal with this tragedy.’
