Join the 11th Sanca/Bay Watch ‘Walk Away From Drugs’ event on 2 September

The 'eleventh hour' draws closer

THE event committee is hard at work planning the 11th annual Sanca/Bay Watch ‘Walk Away From Drugs’ event taking place on Saturday, 2 September.

The fun walk, intended to encourage healthy lifestyles and promote awareness of Sanca’s role in education and rehabilitation with regard to drugs and alcohol, will again be hosted at the Zululand Yacht Club.

The leisurely stroll to Naval Island and back is open to all schools, businesses, clubs, faith-based organisations and individuals.

Thanks to Benita van Eeden of Peggallery, finishers will receive a cloth badge commemorating this year’s event

The school with the most entrants will win a computer and stand, while there are also prizes for best dressed, team spirit, best banner/slogan and other categories.

The theme for this year is ‘The 11th Hour’ – a fitting one, given that the drug pandemic is virtually out of control and ever more young people are at risk.

Sponsors and prizes are being requested.
