Zululand chills: cool calm and collected

SAWS forecaster Wisani Maluleke said that a cold front is expected to bring some rain and cooler conditions on Sunday

THE major cold fronts that were experienced over various parts of the country at the weekend have since dispersed but Zululand will also get a taste of the cold.

The South African Weather Service (SAWS) told the Eyethu Bay Watch that, despite colder mornings with minimum temperatures expected to be between 10 and 13 degrees for the coming week, the region can expect clear skies and mid twenties maximum temperatures.

SAWS forecaster Wisani Maluleke said that a cold front is expected to bring some rain and cooler conditions on Sunday.

‘We are expecting a cold front this week, but it looks like it will be small compared to the one that will hit your area on Sunday.

‘Sunday’s cold front will bring rain (30%) but not a major drop in temperatures.

‘We will only be able to see if the cold front develops in strength as it moves further inland or whether it will disperse quickly,’ he said.
