‘University education unlocks opportunities that can change the lives of young people.

‘This is an expression of our Shared Growth commitment to help realise the province’s potential and contribute to its long term economic growth.

‘This investment in the University of Zululand has been made possible by the hard work and dedication of colleagues in our business and I am proud of their commitment to make a visible difference in the lives of thousands of young people,’ said Absa Provincial Managing Executive in KZN, Faisal Mkhize.

Unizulu Vice Chancellor Professor Xoliswa Mtose commended the contribution stating that public and private partnerships ‘will go a long way towards financial relief and contributing towards producing valued graduates for our country’.

‘The Unizulu student population is predominantly from disadvantaged backgrounds. Through this partnership and financial injection received from this banking giant, young minds that would not have had an opportunity to pursue higher education, will benefit immensely,’ Mtose added.
