Recent studies have shown that dogs in the workplace improve working conditions for all
FOR pet lovers who simply cannot bare to see the sorry look on their dogs’ faces when leaving for work every morning, latest international research on dogs in the workplace might be just the thing to alleviate that guilt and get you participating in international ‘Take your dog to Work Week’ this week (19 – 23 June).
According to research by Banfield Pet Hospital, which surveyed 1 000 employees and 200 human resource decision makers, allowing dogs in the workplace can make a significant difference in employees’ effectiveness and company morale.

In fact, the study showed dogs in the workplace to improve company morale by 93%, reduce stress among employees by 93%, improve the work-life balance by 91%, improve employees’ loyalty to the company by 91% and reduce guilt among pet owners about leaving their pets at home by 91%.
‘It’s true, taking your dog to work is good for you! Dogs in the office can offer a sense of comfort, relieve stress, increase physical activity and even improve productivity,’ said Mars Multisales Africa General Manager, Brian Ayling.
Additional research by the Waltham Centre for Pet Nutrition drew similar results.
