It’s the biggest thing that happens in Zululand every year. It’s the weekend that everyone in Zululand looks forward to. It’s time for the annual Zululand Trade Fair!

The organisers are pulling all the stops to make sure that everyone in Zululand – regardless of age, race, gender or social status – has the time of their lives. So clear your diary and make sure you head out to the ZCBF grounds in Richards Bay between Thursday, June 29 and Saturday, July 1.

The jam-packed weekend promises entertainment for the whole family. There will be hundreds of stalls and exhibitions, including an impressive military display and mock battles by the South African National Defence Force.

Funfair fans will be delighted to know that this year’s amusement park will be bigger and better.

Look out for superbike stunt riders and stunt bag jumps, super drift cars, banger cars, hotrods, outdoor movie night and dance shows. Miss Zululand will also be crowned this weekend.

The viola quarter The Muses are among the artists on the line-up and Pinky Mothie will be back with another Bollywood spectacular this year.

A noise-free and animal-friendly fireworks display will add some magic to the event – a breathtaking and colourful show without the bangs.

Entertainment Co-ordinator Dean Smith says the two-day showcase caters for all age groups and cultures within the community and attracts thousands of visitors, ensuring exposure for exhibitors showcasing their companies, products and services.

With stalls selling fast, exhibitors are encouraged to secure their spot as it is on a ‘first come, first served’ basis.

‘This event not only fosters economic development and growth in the area, but will also indirectly stimulate the local economy through tourism expenditure, as many of the exhibitors come from areas outside of Richards Bay and make use of local accommodation, restaurants, filling stations, shopping centres and other facilities during the days running up to and for the duration of the show,’ Dean says.
