THE action was fast and furious in the Zululand Hockey League at Grantleigh Schools on Sunday, with seven cards (five green and two yellow) being dished out.
Kadenza men picked up a 4-0 victory over Unizulu, thanks to goals from Ashley Botes (3) and Darryl van der Merwe.
But this ill-disciplined game produced six cards – four green and two yellow.
The second encounter of the day between Empangeni and Richards Bay in the ladies section, saw Empangeni drill eight unanswered goals into the back of Richards Bay’s box.
Laurisa Badenhorst (5), Kayla Jansen, Thando Zondi and Jaydene Lloyd were the goal scorers.

Kadenza ladies pulled a narrow 4-3 win over the Vets side, where one green card was dished out.
Cindy Smith and Michelle Mchugh scored for the Vets side, with Chantelle Marinus, Michelle Emery (2) and Petro Reynolds finding success for the Kadenza side.
The last game of the day saw Mavericks hand Empangeni men a 4-2 hiding, thanks to a hat-trick of goals from Cade Leaity. Clarke Bishop added the fourth goal.
Empangeni’s goals came from the sticks of Anthony Meij and Phakamani Mthethwa.
