‘James Bond’ actor Roger Moore passed away this week at the age of 89. He played the famous 007 spy in seven Bond films, including ‘A View To Kill’ and ‘Live and Let Die’.

Here are 10 things your probably didn’t know about Roger Moore:

1. Roger never ordered a vodka martini shaken not stirred, despite playing James Bond in seven Bond films.

2. Before he became famous, Roger worked as a truck driver. Many years later, he impressed the crew on the set of ‘A View to a Kill’ with his truck driving skills.

3. All the scenes in which showed Roger running in his seven Bond movies were performed by doubles, as the actor felt he looked awkward running.

4. His contract for the 007 films provided him with an unlimited supply of Montecristo cigars during filming. The bill for this ran to thousands of pounds.

5. In 1964, eight years before he took over the movie role, Moore played James Bond in a hilarious sketch on the BBC comedy show ‘Mainly Millicent’.

6. Roger used to collect towels from all the hotels he stayed in. After a British newspaper printed a story ‘Roger Moore is a towel thief’, he stopped doing this (but he kept his collection)

7. He was the final guest ever on The Muppet Show (1976).

8. In 2000 Roger received an International Humanitarian Award from the London Variety Club for his charity work.

9. In 2007, three days before his 80th birthday, Roger was awarded a Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

10. Moore stood tall at the height of 1.85 m.
