Dalais and Marais the top trophy hunters

Kate carries away the silverware

THERE was plenty of silverware to be had at the St Catherine’s School academic prize-giving ceremony – and though Kate Dalais shone as the overall Dux of the school, there were many young ladies to share in her joy with a variety of notable achievements.

The Victoria and Andrea Vlachos floating trophy for overall runner-up in matric with regards to overall marks was presented to Gabriella Marais, who was Dux runner-up.

The Eckoff Afrikaans trophy was awarded to Natasha Stegen, and the Heather Brook trophy for literature to Dalais.

Natasha Stegen took home the Isabelle Robert trophy for creative writing, and the book prize for accounting was won by Dalais.

Hardly back in their seats, Dalais and Marais were called up again as they shared the Rhind Geography trophy.

Jocelyn Seagreen was proud winner of the Zoe Williams practical art trophy.

To add to her impressive haul, Dalais also took home the Emprint trophy for maths, and the Kleber Chemicals trophy for physical science.

Marais added the Westlake trophy for life sciences to her collection, while the Annemarie Meyer trophy for excellence in art was awarded to Leah Prinsloo.

The Computer Applications Technology subject trophy by Lamusse was handed to Stegen, and the Goddards-Loffler business studies trophy was claimed by Asanda Biyela.

Marais took another trip to the podium to collect the senior music trophy, and she was followed once again by Dalais, who accepted the Sr Ann Thole trophy for life orientation.
