WHO can host a Cuppa for CANSA? Anyone can!

So come along hostesses – start planning an event at your church, gym, school, restaurant, office or hotel!

Hostesses will be supplied with marketing material in the form of posters from CANSA uThungulu, as well as supplies of Glen tea bags for your event.

Chalk mugs will be available to guests on which they may write their messages of hope and inspiration.

The official Cuppa for CANSA launch date is 7 June this year, and potential hostesses are asked to contact the local facilitator, Lizzy, by emailing lvanzyl@cansa.org.za or calling her on 081 5273548.

‘Make it fun and exiting,’ says Lizzy. ‘Keep it healthy – that is the focus for this year.’.

The organisation is also running a ‘Cuppa Guilt Free Recipe competition’ which encourages hostesses to share their healthy recipes

‘We are looking for the top 12 recipes to publish for this coming festive season, and the top three recipes will qualify for great prizes,’ she said.

‘A gala Cuppa event will be held, at which the winner will be announced.’

About the annual event

Cuppa for CANSA is an opportunity to socialise with those you care about and to raise funds for a worthy cause at the same time.

Attend a Cuppa as a guest or become a Cuppa host and gather your friends, family and colleagues together for your own event. It needn’t be tea – any beverage, hot or cold, will do.

Collect money at the event, or ask each guest to contribute a small amount in return for attending.

If you’d love to support this cause, but just don’t have the energy or time to host a party, you can host a virtual Cuppa too.

Be creative as you like. Invite a speaker or a cancer survivor if you like, choose a theme and message you wish to share and serve snacks to suit your theme.
