Go funky for Tekkie Tax charity

Show your support to the charity of your choice by buying your Tekkie Tax stickers and/or shoelaces

TEKKIE Tax Day 2017 is drawing closer and those still planning on buying stickers, shoelaces or T-shirts to support their favourite charity are urged to do so before stocks run out.

Friday, 26 May is D-day when people are urged to don their Tekkie Tax stickers or spiff up their tekkies with funky laces as part of this national charity drive.

Twelve national beneficiaries representing more than 1 000 local NPOs will benefit, including Epilepsy SA, Meals on Wheels, Child Welfare SA, SOS Children’s Villages, CHOC (Childhood Cancer Foundation), Special Olympics SA, CANSA, Imisebeyelanga Services, VVA, NG Welsyn, Endurocad, SAVF (Suid-Afrikaanse Vrouefederasie) and various local animal welfare organisations.

Falling under the ‘bring hope’ category, the Richards Bay SAVF branch spends the money it raises on our community’s most vulnerable, from children to old age pensioners and everyone in between.

A sterling example within our community, the SAVF’s Irma Dreyer was last year recognised and awarded for walking the extra mile during her 2016 Tekkie Tax fund-raising efforts.

Irma and the Richards Bay SAVF have organised a Tekkie Tax Day at the Meerensee Mall on Tekkie Tax Day between 10am and 2pm. The event will be held inside the mall, with all shops open for business and local star, Daniel Hoffmann, providing the day’s entertainment.

Although SAVF will be selling Tekkie Tax stickers and shoelaces on the day, sales have already started, so there is no need to wait.

The idea is for people to buy stickers and/or shoelaces beforehand and sport them on the day.

Tekkie Tax T-shirts, however, these must be pre-ordered.

For enquiries or to place T-shirt orders, contact Irma on 082 5108079.
