National hockey call-up for Veldenvlei educators
The trio had previously been selected to represent Zululand at a tournament in Pietermaritzburg earlier this month
IT is the turn of Veldenvlei Primary School educators’ achievements to be recognised as three were recently chosen to represent KZN at the South African Country Districts hockey tournament later in the year.
Anke Swartz, Petru Reynolds and Nicolene Oosthuizen, who is the non-travelling reserve, are all from the Kadenza Hockey Club and play hockey league every Sunday.
The trio had previously been selected to represent Zululand at a tournament in Pietermaritzburg earlier this month.
After playing against the Midlands, South Coast and Inland teams, the ladies were selected from the South Coast and Zululand A and B teams and the final team was announced at a function last Saturday.
They will head down to Cape Town in July to play in the national tournament.
