UDT and Hullets to meet in darts final

Both teams edged out tough competition in their semi-final matches

AFTER 14 weeks of stiff competition and pin-point darts, Hullets and UDT will battle it out on Wednesday evening in the Empangeni Social Darts League finals at Hullets.

Both teams edged out tough competition in their semi-final matches on Wednesday evening.

UDT beat defending champions Impis 7-3 at the Empangeni Moth Hall.

Naas Strydom opened proceedings with 180 in the cricket match, and followed that up with top darts in his two nomination killer and 501 matches.

UDT’s Naas Strydom hit 180 with his first three darts in cricket

He managed to hit triples with ease in all his encounters.

His dad, Mike Strydom, closed 108 with three darts in his 501 match-up to secure a crucial point for his side.

He hit trip 20, 16 and double sixteen to win the game.

UDT are no strangers to the ‘big stage’, having qualified for the knockout stages of the competition every season.

Hullets, who will enter the finals as favourites, beat Empangeni Rugby Club 10-0 in their semi-final contest played at Hullets.

The team, captained by Herman Steyn, finished on top of the log after the round robin stages, only losing one game to Impis.
