Two weeks for Thanda to create new record

In all the excitement of Thanda Royal Zulu attaining PSL status, focus has been taken away from their three remaining NFD matches as the season draws to a close

IN all the excitement of Thanda Royal Zulu attaining PSL status, focus has been taken away from their three remaining NFD matches as the season draws to a close.

But these are important games, beginning with the away outing to Cape Town All Stars on Sunday.

Then follows FC Cape Town at home on Wednesday 10 May and finally Real Kings away on Sunday 14 May.

Firstly, Thanda will want to maintain their form and fitness, and use the opportunity to blood new players and experiment with combinations.

It’s a great chance to give the reserves a run.

But – the Amabhubesi are close to breaking the NFD record for the number of points gained in a season.

At present they have 56 points, three short of the record 60 points.

They can get a maximum of 12 points from the remaining outings, which would see them set a new standard of 68 points.

Thanda have scored the most goals this season (46) and conceded the fewest (21) – a tribute to both their attacking and defensive prowess.
