Human Rights wine collection benefits DICE

A bottle of wine will go a long way towards helping the elderly and vulnerable children in Zululand

A SPECIAL wine collection launched at Lourensford in the Somerset West area recently, will see R10 of each bottle sold going towards the Zululand Observer’s charity arm, DICE (Do I Care Enough?)

The Right To Love -Rosé is chosen for Love because of its romantic colour and aroma

Partly based on the South African Constitution’s Bill of Rights, the Stormfontein Human Rights Wine Collection presents six wines from Lourensford Estate and Ayama Wines.

The Right To Privacy Sauvignon Blanc is chosen for Privacy because of its individual
distinctive character

All labels present unique artworks by students from the Centre for Fine Art, Animation & Design in Durban, who have expressively used art to raise human rights awareness.

The Right To Life Chardonnay is chosen for Life because of it being the most popular white wine

It is hoped that with this collection, the consciousness of human rights can be enhanced and spread across the globe, along with the exposure of art and culture from South Africa.

The Right To Equality -Merlot is chosen for Equality because it has been known to be a more ‘feminine’ wine, hence gender equality

 

The Right To Freedom –
Pinotage is chosen for Freedom because it’s a SA cultivar and SA is
known for the fight to freedom

Sales begin on 30 March but pre-orders are now open. A gift set of nine postcards featuring the human rights artworks will also be included with the wine collection.

The Right To Dignity – Cabernet Sauvignon is chosen for dignity because of its potential to age, a metaphor of dignity for the elderly
