RICHARDS Bay surfer Liam de Villiers ended joint 7th overall in the Junior section of the Corona Durban Surf Pro which was competed at Dairy Beach in Durban over the past weekend.
This event is a Junior Qualifying Series event for ages 18-and-under running alongside the bigger event of the World Surfing League Qualifying Series events for men and women.
Competitors were treated to beautiful glassy half- to one-metre waves which provided a stage for solid surfing.
De Villiers put together a lethal combination in the qualifying rounds, which saw him progress to the knock-outs.
