Health campaigns in full swing

The community upliftment programmes are free to the public with the aim of creating awareness on various health topics

The ‘Ndawonye Each One, Reach One’ health and wellness awareness campaigns held at the Empangeni Council Chambers every month, are in full swing.

The community upliftment programmes are free to the public with the aim of creating awareness on various health topics, what to do, whom to call or how to deal with life’s emotional crises.

The third campaign took place on Tuesday, where members of the public listened intently to the many topics of discussion by various local services providers and volunteers.

Free screenings are done at every campaign and, if needed, people are refereed to institutions for further help.

Community coordinator Misha Martha has urged the public and community workers to join these monthly campaigns.

‘We have partnered with local businesses in Empangeni as part of their Community Social Investment projects, where members of the public get to win meal vouchers at every session.
