Former Felixton pupil makes the grade

Murray follows in his sister, Este's footsteps, who received the same award in 2015

FELIXTON old boy Murray Louw has scooped a First Year Achievement Award at Stellenbosch University, carrying on a family tradition set by his sister, Este, two years ago.

The award was presented to Murray by Professor Arnold Schoonwinkel, Vice-Rector of Stellenbosch University, at an awards ceremony earlier this month.

Murray is studying towards a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering and the award recognises him as one of the top 32 students at the university.

Schooled at Felixton College, Murray matriculated in 2015 with eight As and a 92% average.

He was also Head Boy.

Murray’s sister Este, also a former Felixton College learner, made local headlines in 2015 when she won this same award at Stellenbosch University.

Este is now in her final year of a Bachelor of Occupational Therapy.
