Departments share business information

Entrepreneur Development Campaign was held in eSikhaleni

WITH high unemployment a great challenge confronting South Africans, an Entrepreneur Development Campaign was held in eSikhaleni on Friday.

Spearheaded by Ward 16 councillor, Thami Phahla, the purpose was to equip the community with necessary information to start their own businesses.

With most aspiring entrepreneurs lacking exposure and business support, representatives of various departments were invited to assist residents with essential business information.

This session was to support entrepreneurs with post-investment support to enable them to develop and adopt strategies that could grow their businesses.

The conference included potential and existing young entrepreneurs, youth enterprise practitioners and organisations.

Relevant government departments, private sectors and stakeholders within the broad youth enterprise network were also part of the campaign.

‘People have ideas about starting businesses but they might really know how to go about it properly, hence we brought together all these organisations to give them information.

‘Once people have the knowledge, it will be easy for them to start businesses,’ said Phahla.
