SEVERAL Veldenvlei Primary School learners have been selected to represent the uThungulu District in their chosen sports.
Selected for the U12 Zululand rugby team were Xanre Pretorius, Jayden Raath, Siyabonga Nkosi and Thabiso Khumalo (non-travelling reserve).
The U13 Zululand rugby team include Jacques Engelbrecht, Sandiso Mchunu, Wenzile Dumisa, Hein Pretorius, Luyanda Mpungose, Andrew Wolf, Luthando Zungu, Vuyo Buthelezi, Tholithembe Sibisi, Lwandle Mthombeni, Thakasani Masimango and Lethu Khuzwayo (non-travelling reserve).
Their next round of trials will be for the Junior Sharks.
Not letting the girls’ side down at the King Cetshwayo District trials earlier this month, Thokozike Mtshali, Sibahle Ndlovu, Siyamthanda Dlamini and Sanele Khumalo were selected for the U12 netball team, while Charné Thyssen and Celine Beytell are included in the U13 netball team.
Their final KZN trials will be held in Pietermaritzburg next month.
