A UNIVERSITY of Zululand student was robbed while walking home after a study session at the Richards Bay campus last week.
The 21-year-old female was held up by three armed suspects at about 9pm while walking on a footpath to her flat in Arboretum.
She was robbed of her laptop and watch.
Richards Bay SAPS Communications Officer, Captain Debbie Ferreira, has asked students to exercise safety when walking through footpaths or pathways and to rather walk in large groups.
‘It is exam time and we know students will be engaging in group studies. We encourage them to walk in well lit areas and to commute in groups for extra safety.’
