In later years he served as part of the senior leadership team that started and successfully commissioned Greenfield projects of Ticor South Africa and Tata Steel in Empangeni and Richards

Bay on time and within budget and continued to run these operations as stable businesses.

Msubo also worked as Senior HR Manager for the Corporate and Iron Ore Strategic Business Unit of Kumba Resources (subsidiary of Anglo American).

He holds a Bachelor’s degree in economics and public administration from the University of Durban-Westville (now UKZN), an Honours Bachelor’s degree in public administration from the University of South Africa, and a Master of Administrative Sciences degree from the German University of Administrative Sciences in Speyer, which he completed as a DAAD Scholar in 1993.
