THE monthly Steel Bridge community market offers a useful fund-raising avenue for the public, local businesses, schools and charities.
This month’s market will be held on Saturday from 9am to 3pm and locals can once again take advantage of some bargain buys.
With loads of new and used goods, fresh produce, arts and crafts, plants, books, confectioneries, pickles and much more for sale, members can do all their shopping at this one-stop market.
The market is a fund-raising initiative of the 1st Richards Bay Sea Scouts Club.
‘We encourage all clubs and groups to use this market to raise funds for their projects,’ said market coordinator Liz Wood.
‘It is a free service to all the clubs and schools and if each learner can collect one item which can be sold at the market, those funds will help the schools tremendously.
‘A new mobile coffee boutique will also be joining us and we are still looking for members to operate pancakes and boerewors rolls stands.
‘The recession has posed challenges for many of our charities and non-profit organisations and we are inviting them to take advantage of the market.’
