Rush hour accidents cause John Ross delays

Traffic was backed up and diverted off the John Ross Parkway around the waterfront and port

TRAFFIC from Meerensee to Richards Bay along the John Ross Parkway was severely disrupted this morning as a result of two rush hour accidents.

According to the Richards Bay Fire Department, the first accident occurred just after 6.30am when a bakery truck overturned.

There were no injuries and the scene was cleared.

A short while later, two passenger vehicles collided in the vicinity of the first accident.

The Fire Department attended to the scene and one person was transported to hospital with minor injuries.

The situation appeared far worse as traffic was backed right up to the Meerensee Mall and motorists were diverted around the waterfront and port.
