uThungulu nosedive after good win

Great uThungulu win followed by pitiful loss

IT was a case of ‘After the Lord Mayor’s show comes the dust cart’ when RH Construction surrendered pitifully to Delta in a KZN Premier League 50 over match played at Tills on Sunday.

This after they had executed a perfect demolition of the much vaunted Clares outfit the day before.

Perhaps they overdid the celebrations at the post-match braai?

Once again it was the top order batting that let uThungulu down as they crashed to a dismal 81 all out after being 15/5 at one stage.

The only player worthy of positive mention was in-form Ruan van Rensburg, who was undefeated on 39 after coming in at number six.

Next best was the 21 extras conceded by Delta, so simple mathematical deduction means the rest of the side managed only 21 runs between them in a substandard total of 81.

The home side polished off the required runs for the loss of three wickets, handing uThungulu yet another big beating in a season that has brought out the best and the worst of them.

The report card reads: ‘uThungulu can do far better, but lack concentration and application’.
