Learn to surf programme kicks off
Public are being urged to lend support to the uThungulu Surfriding's Learn to Surf Programme which will take place every Saturday in an attempt to get kids to enjoy the ocean and learn the art of surfing

UTHUNGULU Surfriding, the local governing body for surfing in the district, is calling on all parents of potential junior surfers to join them in a ‘learn to surf’ programme which starts tomorrow.
The aim is to get kids to enjoy the ocean, gain confidence in the sea and to have fun learning a new sport.
The lessons will take place after the Park Run at the Zululand Multi Sports Club every Saturday, starting tomorrow.
All are welcome, parents too if they want to learn. The only condition is that you need to know how to swim.
People are also urged to bring their own boards if possible.
The venue will change to include Pelican Island and Alkantstrand as the youngsters progress.
uThungulu hopes to send a team of junior surfers to the Billabong SA Grommet Games in Port Elizabeth from 18 to 21 March.
Kenneth Hodgson will be heading up the programme together with Anton Knoetze.
The public are urged to keep an eye on the uThungulu Surfriding Facebook page and local media for news and announcements.
For more information on junior surfing contact Anton on 083 6517017.
