Nivaadh to release new track

Deejay Nivaadh has big plans for 2017, with the release of his new track ‘uKuphumelela’ next month being just one of them

DEEJAY Nivaadh is prepping to up his game in 2017.

The Richards Bay artiste is building up to the release of his new house track titled ‘uKuphumelela’ (success/breakthrough).

The song, which will be released in early February, will mark a decade of his work in the entertainment industry and according to Nivaadh, it’s just the start of a new chapter.

‘My main focus is to enter the mainstream of radio and TV with mind-blowing music & video productions.

‘South Africa has some magnificent artistes and I would love to be one of them holding up our nation’s name high, pushing the boundaries of the impossible and inspiring both youth and parents.’

uKuphumelela is an underground sound called ‘Gqom’ house, a uniquely South African sound that borders on heart pounding broken beats combined with synth menace.

‘I have decided not to release albums as yet.

‘I will be releasing multiple singles with much collaboration in the future.

‘After the release of uKuphumelela in February my focus will be on all styles of pop ranging from electronic to indie pop and hip hop music.

‘I have a numerous supporters who enjoy different styles of music and I would like to give my audience a wider variety of genres.’

Nivaadh said he has a number of collaborations in the pipeline.

‘Right now, I am working on a hip hop project with Ryan BIP from Durban, who is an amazing artiste & lyricist.

‘Umfolozi Idols winner, Vinesa Naidoo and I will be starting a brand new project within a few months with other well recognised artistes which I will announce in the near future.’

Nivaadh admitted although he enjoys producing his own songs, he still has a major passion for DJ’ing.

‘Smallest of details matter to me the most, from hearing the excitement in my client’s voice, performing on those state-of-the-art stages, interacting with the crowd and playing tunes that speak to their inner beings, meeting people of different cultures and travelling to different places.

‘As an artiste your ultimate responsibility is to give your audience an experience and memories they would never forget.

‘I love meeting people who tell me about their amazing experiences when I perform and that truly inspires me.’
