eShowe take First Division title
Eshowe won the the uThungulu First Division cricket title after defeating Felixton
ESHOWE won the the uThungulu First Division cricket title after defeating Felixton by 62 runs on Saturday afternoon at the eShowe Sports Club.
The game was played under heavy cloud with a slow outfield owing to rain.
eShowe batted first and thanks to a good knock by Angus Kramer of 87 not out, which included eight sixes and five fours, and Mike Park with 50 runs, a daunting total of 189 runs for three wickets was put on the board in their allotted overs.
Phakamane Mthethwa took two wickets and conceded 59 runs in his bowling spell, while Wayne Ellor took the third wicket for Felixton.
Felixton batsman Riekert Myburgh top scored for his side with 38 runs.
The only other Felixton batsmen to reach double figures were Mthethwa (12) and Mo Uddin (23).
Brian Carpenter was the pick of the eShowe bowlers, taking three wickets for 16 runs off 6 overs.
Neil Hampson and Malcolm Munro took two wickets each, with Sean Mostert, Angus Kramer and Rob Adams all picking up one wicket.
