Muzi makes the right call
Amanda van Heerden thought her phone was lost forever last week
A RICHARDS BAY woman expressed her gratitude and heaped praise on a security guard who returned her cell phone to her.
Amanda van Heerden thought her phone was lost forever last week.
‘I was talking on my cell while walking around my garden at home,’ Amanda explained.
‘I was distracted by something and put my phone on the back bumper of our bakkie, and promptly forgot about it!’
Only later that day, when leaving for dinner at a restaurant at the Inkwazi Boardwalk Shopping Centre, did she realise her phone was missing.
‘We searched high and low and even drove to a friend’s house to look in his car, to no avail.
‘Giving up hope, we drove to the mall and continued with our dinner plans.’
After enjoying their meal and paying for parking, they were approached by a Servest security guard, Muzi Ngidi.
He asked Amanda why she had left her phone on the bakkie and handed over the device.
‘I was so grateful and overwhelmed,’ said Amanda.
‘We rewarded Muzi and I really want to thank him for returning my cell phone.
‘It’s so good to know that we still have good citizens in our community.
‘If we all had a trustworthy attitude toward each other it would only make our country a better place. Hats off to you, Muzi!’
