THIS Saturday will see the music trio Jenny and the Jameses performing at Thornley’s Guest House in eShowe.
The trio Jennifer Eaves (guitar, vocals), James Hall (fiddle and vocals) and James Harvey (harp, accordion, upright bass, vocals) plays a variety of folk songs mostly written by Eaves.
The music line-up also includes covers of adapted pop songs.
James Harvey started out playing with ‘Blacksmith’ (a folk band founded in 1975 by his father Neil) in 2010.
In 2012 they were joined by fiddler James Hall.
They immediately found a repertoire outside of ‘Blacksmith’ and started their own outfit ‘James and James’, and played mainly at weddings and events.
Eaves, something of a household name in the Fish Hoek area of Cape Town, was performing solo and with backing bands.
In 2014 she met the Jameses at Big House Studios when ‘Blacksmith’ asked Jenny to come in as a guest artist.
In 2015 the threesome decided to join up and Jenny and the Jameses was born.
They now play gigs around Cape Town and surrounds.
The show begins at 4.30pm and tickets are available from Simon on email thornleys@iafrica.com or cell
083 4423884.
