DYNAMITE certainly come in small packages.
At only eight-years-old, energetic Grade 3 pupil at Richards Bay Christian School Daniella Burgess has been selected to represent South Africa at the International Junior Miss 2017 pageant in Tennessee in the USA in July.
She was nomination after being crowned Mini Miss RSA in October last year.
This little beauty started her modelling career at only three, and has since scooped several national beauty titles.
Her overflowing bag of achievements include winning Tiny Miss St Lucia, Miss Tiny Golden Sands,
Little Miss Durban Sparkling Beauty, Face of Umvoti, Face of North Coast as 1st princess and Miss uShaka Kids World title.
However her ultimate accomplishment was winning the Mini Miss RSA Overall and the Overall Model of the Year titles in the Petite section during the Trelique’s Modelling graduation ceremony last year.
Not just a beauty queen
Daniella is not just an ordinary model, but she is passionate about sport, charity and public speaking.
Owing to her love for the outdoors and passion for life, she has received the Character Awards and an A+ Certificate of Excellence from the Speech and Drama Association of South Africa.
She is also a gymnast at Bay Rhythmic Gymnastics Club, with several accolades in the field.
‘I look up to my aunt Angelique Wright, who has made an impact on my life. She has been training and guiding me since I started modelling,’ says the youngster.
She is also passionate about charity work and works with the local SPCA, the House of Grace and involved with Zululand Hospice and Lifeline Zululand.
‘We are calling on the Zululand community to come together to make sure her dream of going overseas and coming back with that title becomes a reality,’ said mentor Angelique Wright.
