Hijackers behind bars

Siyabonga Mncedisi Maseko (23), Busani Thendekani Zikhali/Masinga (18) and a 16-year-old juvenile were found guilty of robbery with aggravating circumstances for the 2015 hijacking and robbery of a woman last year in eSikhaleni. They were each sentenced to five years in prison after being found guilty on all charges.

Shoplifter fined for stealing school uniform

Simphiwe Mashiyane (25) was given a fine of R2 000 or four months in prison after pleading guilty to stuffing four white school shirts, to the value of R300, into her handbag at Pep Stores in Sanlam Centre, Empangeni.

She did not provide a reason to the court for her actions.
