Foundation plea for financial support

The foundation, which is externally audited on an annual basis, highlighted that tax certificates are issued to donors, allowing them to claim back 80% of monies contributed from the SA Revenue Services

THE uThungulu Community Foundation has appealed to companies to donate funding to help empower and improve the living standards of local residents.

The foundation, which is externally audited on an annual basis, highlighted that tax certificates are issued to donors, allowing them to claim back 80% of monies contributed from the SA Revenue Services.

‘Even more important, organisations are recognised as being willing to give a helping hand where needed,’ said CEO Chris Mkhize.

‘Through small, medium and large donations, we can continue to provide mentorship services to mainly young entrepreneurs, and emerging and existing community-based organisations.

‘Without donations, our work would come to a halt.

‘This would have a very damaging impact on the lives of local residents and communities.

‘In short, everybody within our local community needs to be counted as a donor to the foundation.

‘We know that the current socio-economic conditions are a source of concern, but we believe it is only through our joint and collaborative efforts that we will help our local community weather the negative economic outlook most economists predict for this year.

‘I believe we can, by working better and together, find ways of making a success of our collective and individual operations in the year ahead.’
