THE 108 learners of eShowe High School who sat for the 2016 matriculation examinations achieved a 100% pass.
More importantly though, 78.7% received Bachelor passes, 20.37% Diploma passes and 0.92% Higher Certificates.
Top learner, who was also Dux Pupil of the year, Ezra Moodley achieved distinctions in English home language,
Afrikaans first additional, mathematics, geography, life sciences and physical sciences.
Also in eShowe, the Sunnydale Secondary School was pleased with their 86% pass rate which is up from 79% in 2015.
Nhlakanipho Mpungose received distinctions in English home language, isiZulu first additional, mathematical literacy, geography, history and tourism.
Fellow learner, Sbonelo Nkosi also amassed distinctions in English home language, isiZulu first additional, mathematics, geography, life sciences and physical science.
Learners of distinction
Two learners from Nkandla made their school proud by earning seven distinctions.
Velangaye High School learners, Thuthuka Biyela and Thembokuhle Xulu were the shining stars at their school.
Biyela studied IsiZulu home language, English first additional, mathematics, life sciences, mechanical technology, physical sciences and tourism, while fellow learner Thembokuhle Xulu received distinctions in IsiZulu home language, English first additional, life orientation, agricultural management, life sciences, physical sciences and tourism.
Nongoma’s King Bhekizulu High School principal, Mr Dumakude was pleased with the results of his 2016 class, especially the three learners who achieved six distinctions.
Busane Minenhle achieved distinctions in IsiZulu Home Language, English First Additional, Life Orientation, Economics, Geography and Life Sciences, while Luyanda Mthethwa achieved in IsiZulu Home Language, Life Orientation, Agricultural Sciences, Economics, Life Sciences and Physical Sciences.
Lwandile Zondi aced in IsiZulu Home Language, English First Additional, Life Orientation, Agricultural Sciences, Economics and Life Sciences.
