Road rehabilitation update

As a result of the rain and other delays the Kangella Road rehabilitation is now only expected to be completed in February.

THE Kangella Road rehabilitation was due for completion on 15 December, but as a result of the rain and other delays, it is now only expected to be completed in February.

The compulsory contractors shutdown is from 15 December to 9 January and during this period both the ‘Stop-and-Go’ controls will be removed to allow free flow of traffic.

Alderman Stan Larkan says, ‘Road surfaces are not conducive to normal driving conditions and caution needs to be exercised at all times.

‘Your understanding and indulgence is appreciated and the undue delays regretted.’

The rehabilitation of Hullett, Farrell and Steele Streets will no longer be undertaken owing to the asphalt factory’s closure and other delays experienced by the contractor.

These works will now commence after 12 January.

Rehabilitation of Salberg Road in Sunnydale was also started with the completion of works expected in the new year.

The inconvenience to Sunnydale road users is regretted.
