City trains 10 new tour guides

THANKS to a partnership programme between uMhlathuze Municipality and the National Department of Tourism, the region now boasts 10 more tourist guides.

The group underwent three months of classroom training before embarking on practical activities at selected key tourist attractions in KZN.

This follows an analysis conducted by the City of uMhlathuze, which reflected a shortage of professional tourist guides.

The qualified students are now able to provide a short guided experience, based on local natural and cultural resources, that entertains and informs visitors.

They will undergo further training to enhance their new skills and accreditation levels.
