Family flees burning Brackenham home

A relative told the Zululand Observer they were wakened by a loud bang as the fire began and spread quickly

FOUR Brackenham family members fled for their lives in the early hours of this (Friday) morning as their home burnt to the ground.

A relative told the Zululand Observer they were wakened by a loud bang as the fire began and spread quickly.

Although the Richards Bay Fire Department was on the scene within minutes, they were unable to save the house, located at  Cibotium Street in Brackenham.

Richards Bay SAPS Spokesperson Captain Debbie Ferreira confirmed that a case of arson has been opened at the Richards Bay Police Station and police are investigating the matter.
