GINGINDLOVU Buildit were crowned champions at the recent Buildit U13 northern region soccer tournament held at Grantham Park Primary.
Ging beat Paulpietersburg Buildit 5-3 on penalties after a goalless draw in a closely contested final.
Fourteen teams who won their respective regional tournaments earlier in the year competed in four pools, following a round robin system, playing 10 minute one-way games.
Richards Bay was knocked out in the semi-finals by Gingindlovu, going down 0-2, with Paulpietersburg booking their spot in the finals by beating Ulundi 7-6 on penalties.
Teams that competed on the day were Dumbe, Zululand, Pongola, Dundee, eShowe, eSikhawini, Nquthu, Gingindlovu, Nogoma, Melmoth, Richards Bay, Empangeni, Piet Retief and Ulundi.
