Mayor cracks the drug whip
‘I'm declaring war against the drug lords selling drugs in our town,’ Mkhwanazi said.

MTUBATUBA Mayor Cllr Qhina Mkhwanazi has vowed to rid the town of all its ‘rotten elements’ and to make it attractive to new businesses, tourists and shoppers.
Addressing a business community meeting held at the Mtuba Town hall on Wednesday, Mkhwanazi made a plea for all to join him in making Mtubatuba once again a beautiful town.
Beginning with the unsightly conditions in the Mtuba CBD, the Mayor said he is ashamed of living in a place declared ‘the dirtiest town in the Zululand region’, and has therefore taken it upon himself to ‘clean it up’.
‘As the person chosen by the voters to serve them, I appeal to you to assist me to bring this town to its former glory.
‘Let us take back our town and make it safe, tidy, attractive to new customers and ready for job-creation opportunities,’ Mkhwanazi beseeched.
