Little miss with a big heart for Hospice
'Ceana really puts her entire heart into every aspect'
BEAUTY is certainly not skin deep for Heuwelland Primary learner Ceana van Zyl – a young pageant queen doing remarkable volunteer work for Zululand Hospice.
the 11-year-old has not only managed to bring a bakkie load of paper to be recycled for extra funds, but has also donated large bundles of clothes and toys, raised more than R3500 for the charity and collected around 40 kilograms of Morevite Porridge for Hospice patients.
‘What is really special is the amount of effort and energy Ceana puts into her charity work,’ said Zululand Hospice Association PRO, Tatum Bristow.
‘Ceana really puts her entire heart into every aspect.
‘She cleaned out her parents’ garage by herself and she came up with the ideas to raise the funds, even asking all of her friends for small sponsorships.
‘This young school girl went so far as to buy Morevite Porridge with her own pocket money – now that is dedication.’
Since winning the title of Little Miss Hospice Zululand 2016 last month, she has also been the Little Miss Ambassador at the Tree of Light event.
For this cause, she has also arranged to speak at her school assembly on 7 December in an effort to raise awareness.
