Local group pushes hip hop boundaries
‘There are more creative ways to define hip hop and that's what we're trying to do.’
THREE local artists are attempting to push the boundaries of hip hop.
Comprised of three members, Kid Menace, Achilles Grey and Cazsh, the group is commonly known as Indo – an abbreviation for ‘It Never Dies Out’.
Forming part of their ‘Come Up Season’ mix tape, Indo has already produced and released three tracks and are currently working on their fourth.
Graphic design graduate Achillies Grey said it’s their vision to create different local music that never dies out.
‘There are more creative ways to define hip hop and that’s what we’re trying to do.’
‘We’ve released three tracks – 5am, Lit and No Title. No Title is a spin on Gangsters Paradise.’
According to Kid Menace, Indo’s sound is somewhat ‘chilled hip hop with a bit of trap influence’.
‘We’re very much in the process of developing our own sound and style. Collectively we all listen to various genres of music.’
