Close win in NCR women’s fund-raiser

Watson and Davidson clench win at Richards Bay Country Club

WINNIE Watson and Glen Davidson clinched a one point victory at the NCR women’s fund-raising golf day played at the Richards Bay Country Club on Saturday.

The duo carded 52 points in their 18 hole round, which proved enough to beat second-placed Buks van der Walt and Ockie Annandale, who managed 51 points.

Ro-Juan Hills and partner Jacques Swarts finished third on 50 points.

Players followed a 4 Ball Better Ball Stableford with scramble drive format over 18 holes.

This format means that both partners tee off, with the second shot being played from the best lying ball.

From the second shot onwards, both partners finish the hole, with the better score being recorded.

The aim of the day was to raise funds for the NCR women’s team for next year’s league games.

The NCR mixed foursomes golf day will be held on Sunday, 4 December at the Richards Bay Country Club.

Competitors will play 36 holes at a cost of R300 per player.
