Nappy robbers remain in custody

Case postponed due to faulty stenotype machine

THE case against three suspects believed to be members of a gang responsible for a truck robbery on the N2 freeway next to Fairbreeze in July last year, was remanded to a later date at the eSikhawini Regional Court on Tuesday owing to the court’s recording machine breaking down.

Sandile Mnyandu, Philani Mthembu, Lucky Magwaza and another suspect who turned state witness, were arrested by Mtunzini SAPS in July last year and charged with armed robbery.

They allegedly pointed a gun at the driver and made away with nappies worth around R165 000 and an undisclosed amount cash.

The case was postponed to 5 November.
