Thanda ready to tackle the Cosmos

Thanda look for three more points at home

AFTER a 0-0 draw with AmaZulu over the weekend, Thanda Royal Zulu still have a comfortable lead over the rest of the pack as they head into Sunday’s home fixture against Jomo Cosmos.

Life is always tough at the top and with 11 of the season’s 30 games completed, the Amabhubesi are digging deep to maintain their unbeaten run in the 2016/2017 National First Division campaign.

Their last five games have seen three draws and two wins by a narrow 2-1 margin.

Cosmos, with recent PSL experience on their side, will again prove to be dangerous opponents not to be taken lightly.
However, Thanda are solid all over the park and can more than match the visitors.

They have not dropped a point at the uMhlathuze Stadium this season and in fact have scored some resounding wins in front of their faithful and passionate fans.

No doubt head coach Roger Sikhakhane and his technical team will be well prepared.

The sign of a good reader of the game, he has shown great ability to turn things round at half-time when needed.

Thanda are sitting five points clear of closest rivals Stellenbosch, who themselves have a battle looming against Witbank Spurs, another contender for league honours.

Should Thanda win and Spurs beat Stellenbosch, the lead at the head of the log will extend to eight points.

These are exciting times, as the prospect of PSL status grows week by week.
